Data we collect
Submission data: place title, description, photos, author’s email, display name (alias), GPS coordinates of the place.
Technical data: date/time, IP address, user agent, server logs.
Visitor geolocation: only if you consent in your browser, used to center the map; we do not store this location.
Communications: messages sent to our email address.

How we obtain and process data
You provide data via the submission form or via your browser (geolocation). Photos are first stored on Google Drive (site’s Google account) for manual moderation, then integrated into published place pages displayed on the Mapbox map.

Purposes and legal bases
• Publishing places, manual moderation, abuse prevention, security: legitimate interests.
• Responding to messages and liaising with contributors: legitimate interests.
• Displaying the map (requests to Mapbox): legitimate interests.
• Visitor geolocation (map centering): consent (via the browser).
• Legal obligations (requests from authorities, dispute management): legal obligation.

Photos & metadata (EXIF)
Before publication, we remove EXIF metadata (including GPS) from photos intended for public display. Original files may be kept up to 30 days on Google Drive solely for moderation, then deleted.

Processors / recipients
Hostinger International Ltd. — hosting and technical logs.
Google (Drive/Sheets) — temporary storage/moderation and internal management.
Mapbox — map tiles and map services.
Some processing may involve transfers outside the EU (notably to the United States). Transfers are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, additional safeguards.

Retention periods
• Published entries: as long as the page is online, then technical archiving for up to 24 months to handle disputes.
• Original photos on Drive (moderation): 30 days maximum.
• Technical logs (security): 12 months.
• Emails / correspondence: 24 months.
• Visitor geolocation data: not stored.

Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and post-mortem directives by emailing architecturemapper@gmail.com. You may also contact the French data protection authority (CNIL) at cnil.fr.

Minors
Submitting content is reserved for users aged 15+. Public browsing is open to all.

Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures (access controls, backups, encryption in transit). Please report any suspected incident to architecturemapper@gmail.com.

Automated decision-making
We do not perform automated decision-making producing legal or similarly significant effects.
