Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 August 2025
1. Purpose
These Terms govern access to and use of ArchitectureMapper, a platform to view and submit architectural places.
2. Access to the service
Browsing is free. Submissions are accepted without creating an account, via an online form. The publisher may modify, suspend or discontinue the service at any time.
3. Submissions: rules & responsibilities
3.1 Accuracy & rights — By submitting a place (text, photos, GPS coordinates), you warrant that you hold all necessary rights, including copyright and rights of persons depicted, and that the location does not unduly expose private property not publicly accessible.
3.2 Prohibited content — Illegal, defamatory, hateful content; privacy violations; personal contact details of third parties; any incitement to trespass on private property, etc.
3.3 Moderation — Every submission is manually reviewed and may be refused or removed, notably for rights, safety, accuracy or respect-for-places reasons.
3.4 Credit & license — Unless stated otherwise, the author/pseudonym may be displayed as credit. By submitting content, you grant the publisher a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license for the legal term to reproduce, display, adapt, translate and distribute your content on the site, apps and social channels.
3.5 Takedown / reports — To request removal of content (e.g., a photo or sensitive location), email architecturemapper@gmail.com; target response time: within 72 hours.
3.6 Sensitive places — For fragile or private sites, we may offset the displayed location (approximation) or refuse publication.
4. Visitor geolocation
Geolocation occurs only with your browser consent and is used solely to center the map; it is not stored.
5. Intellectual property of the site
The site structure, interface and original editorial content are protected. Any unauthorized reproduction is prohibited.
6. Personal data
Personal data processing is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
7. Third-party services
The map is provided by Mapbox; photos pass through Google Drive for moderation and may be referenced in Google Sheets for internal management. These services have their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Liability
Service provided “as is”. The publisher does not guarantee the accuracy of information nor continuous availability and shall not be liable for indirect damages, data loss or harm related to use of the site.
9. Governing law & jurisdiction
French law. Exclusive jurisdiction: Nice (France) courts.
