35 Madrid Apartments

Collective housing · by Jesus Miguel Espelosín · 2008

Spain

A former commercial building is reinvented as compact, design-led apartments, using height and openness to make small footprints feel surprisingly generous. The key move is an internal “box” strategy: services and storage are concentrated into a crafted core so the remaining space reads as one continuous, adaptable room. Light, proportion, and carefully placed openings do the work of making density feel airy rather than tight.
