Ancien ISAI (immeuble sans affectation individuelle) des docks, actuel Groupe Normandie

House · by Fayeton Jean-Louis, André Remondet, Lair Edmond, Roger Pruvost, Combrisson Noël · 1949

72 boulevard d'Orléans, Rouen, France

Situated on the site of the port warehouses in Rouen that were destroyed in 1944, the Immeuble sans affectation individuelle (I.S.A.I.) is one of the first buildings in the new residential area planned for the left bank of Rouen, as outlined in the Gréber plan. The initial project was revised in 1948 at the request of the Ministry of Urban Planning to develop a distinctly modern building. The group of architects involved represents early I.S.A.I. operations, with Fayeton and Remondet likely being the main designers, while Edmond Lair, Roger Pruvost, and Noël Combrisson contributed as project architects. Construction began in 1949 and was completed in 1954.
