Ancienne gare routière, actuellement pépinière d’entreprise et bureaux de France 3 Basse-Normandie
Infrastructure · by Longuet Roger Vissuzaine · 1955
place du Général-Bonet, Alençon, France
The former bus station in Alençon, designed by chief architect Roger Vissuzaine in 1958 at the request of the Chamber of Commerce to boost the local economy, features an elongated shape with rounded corners and a reinforced concrete structure. It showcases a single expansive curved roof made of concrete, covering an area of 350 m². The wavy facades, also featuring extensive glazing from top to bottom, are supported by slender concrete pillars beneath the roof's overhang. The building has since been converted from a brasserie into a business incubator and offices.
