Benesse House is a mixed-use cultural complex in Japan designed by Tadao Ando. The complex combines museum galleries and hotel rooms, stepping through the landscape with exposed concrete volumes and framed vistas. Public-facing and private/service zones are organized to create legible thresholds and efficient movement. The project was completed in 1992.
