quai Gambetta, Boulogne-sur-Mer, France
Following World War II, the young architect Pierre Vivien from Amiens was tasked with the reconstruction of Boulogne-sur-Mer after Roger Berrier's resignation. In June 1950, his reconstruction plan was officially approved, including a project for four buildings arranged in an oblique formation at the beginning of quai Gambetta, a significant area for port activities. To execute this project, he collaborated with engineer Eugène Mopin and several other architects: André Lacoste, Georges Popesco, Jean-Salomon Louria, André Sive, Jean Beaubernard, Jean Courcoux, and Claude Blanchecotte. Construction began in January 1951, progressing from building D, the furthest from the city center, towards building A.
