15 place du Général de-Gaulle, Haumont, France
The construction project for a town hall in Hautmont began in 1912 with the appointment of Adolphe Danis as municipal architect. The existing town hall, located in an annex of the former abbey since 1880, was inadequate for the growing population. Only the vocational school was initiated before World War I interrupted progress. In 1938, land was acquired for the town hall and a community hall, but the war again delayed the project. A competition for the construction of a town hall and cultural center was announced in 1950.
