Education · by Van Migom Jacques, Van Migom Michel, Jean Pelissier · 1952
rue du Maréchal-Foch, Arles, France
The Fernand Fournier Sports and Educational Center in Arles was developed in the Alyscamps district between 1952 and 1964, based on a design by architects Jacques Van Migom, Jean Pélissier, and Michel Van Migom. Commissioned by the city of Arles to address a lack of sports facilities, the project followed extensive studies from 1943 to 1950 before final plans were established between 1950 and 1952. The construction, in accordance with recommendations from civil engineering authorities, aimed to contribute to the urban development of the area. This center remains one of the most significant sports facilities in the department from that era.
