Chapelle d’ursulines de l’institution Notre-Dame de Kerbertrand

Religion · by Charles Chaussepied, André Pineau · 1933

154 rue de Pont-Aven, Quimperlé, France

The chapel of the Notre-Dame de Kerbertrand institution was built between 1933 and 1935 by architects André Chaussepied and André Pineau, on land acquired by the Ursulines for educational purposes. The building features an L-shaped plan typical of conventual architecture, constructed from concrete and brick. It is characterized by a series of large parabolic arches, with the intrados highlighted by brickwork in the nave. The front gable is adorned with vertical openings and topped by a brick bell tower, contrasting with the white-painted façade. The floors are embellished with mosaics depicting geometric patterns, religious inscriptions, and regional symbols.
