Child care center
Education · by Rh+ architecture · 2014
France
A childcare facility defined by a folded, textured white concrete envelope that wraps the building like a protective shell. The project responds to a curving street and a slight change in ground level, using these constraints to shape a compact cluster of volumes. Perforations and deep reveals filter daylight, creating gentle interior lighting suited to young children. Outdoor spaces are treated as extensions of classrooms—secure, closely supervised, and scaled for play. The architecture is both expressive and pragmatic: the sculpted façade provides identity while also acting as shading and weather protection.
