Cimetière de la Falaise

Funerary · by Maurice Blanc · 1970

rue de Trefforine, Sassenage, France

The Council of Sassenage commissioned architect Maurice Blanc in 1969 to design a new cemetery on a gently sloping site. Blanc proposed a partially landscaped Norwegian-style cemetery, which opened in 1970. However, by 1994, the initial concept was deemed unsuccessful, leading to a decision to convert part of the Norwegian area into a traditional burial vault section.
