Tavaux, France

Cité Solvay, constructed in 1928 by the architecture service of Belgian chemical company Solvay, is a worker housing complex located in Tavaux, France. Adjacent to the factory and aligned with its main axis, the initial orthogonal layout is intersected by a diagonal road to the north. The first construction phase focuses on a main avenue oriented east-west. Subsequent developments until 1965 introduce softer lines in later phases. The complex includes a total of 265 paired neo-regional style houses based on 25 models, designed to accommodate workers, supervisors, employees, and engineers, along with 11 buildings specifically for workers.
