place de l'Église, Blain, France

The town was occupied by German forces and liberated in August 1944, remaining close to the front line near the Saint-Nazaire pocket and suffering bombardments. The Germans detonated the church on the night of January 14-15, 1945. A temporary church was subsequently erected in a field behind the former rectory. Plans for the new church were finalized on August 30, 1950, with the architect's descriptive estimate completed by February 28, 1951. Construction by Grenapin began in December 1951 and finished in July 1952, with the church being consecrated on July 3, 1952.
