Rivière-Pilote, France
The Church of Saint-Louis-Marie-Grignon-de-Montfort, designed by architect Marcel Salasc, was constructed in 1957 in the suburb of Régale within the municipality of Rivière-Pilote, Martinique. This area, characterized by its dispersed population, lacked a dedicated place of worship, particularly crucial for its residents. Prior to this, a makeshift chapel established in 1920 had fallen into disrepair and was abandoned around 1950. The need for a proper church was recognized, leading to the selection of a site in 1957 for the new construction, addressing the spiritual needs of the community in this relatively populous sector.
