Église Saint-Michel
Religion · by Danis Benoît · 1965
19-21 rue Firmin-Didot, Livry-Gargan, France
The Saint-Michel Church, designed by architect Robert Danis and completed in 1964, is located in the center of Livry-Gargan. This square-plan concrete structure features a patio at its front, bordered by two stone walls connected by a slender covered gallery. Central to the design is a large lantern tower topped with a square spire. The lantern's walls consist of resin and polyester panels supported by plastic tubing, crafted by François Chapuis, which evokes the theme of Genesis. The altar is centrally positioned within the tower, elevated on a square platform that allows it to be surrounded by the congregation on all sides.
