Église Sainte-Colombe et chapelle de secours
Religion · by Senn Rainer · 1966
23 rue Sainte-Colombe, Villejuif, France
The original parish facilities of Saint-Colombe were temporary structures salvaged from the 1931 colonial exhibition, with one serving as a chapel. This restored wooden building currently functions as a welcoming space for parish activities. In 1966, the Diocese commissioned Swiss architect Rainer Senn, noted for his religious buildings in Nice and Pontarlier, to design a new rectangular church. Its roof features elegant curves and counter-curves, topped by a large central lantern. The church is constructed from a metallic framework utilizing cost-effective IPN-profiled columns, ensuring unobstructed visibility of the altar from the entire congregation.
