Église Sainte-Geneviève
Religion · by Saint Rémy Marc de, Hardy Jean-Pierre · 1966
22 rue du Colonel Fabien, Garges-lès-Gonesse, France
The Sainte-Geneviève church in Garges-lès-Gonesse, designed by Marc de Saint-Rémy in 1966, is his only religious work and reflects the urban development in the area. It sits at the intersection of the residential neighborhood La Lutèce, established in the 1910s, and the large-scale Dame Blanche district, which was initiated in 1959. The church marks the city's westward expansion, leading to the construction of a new town hall by 1975. Inside, a prominent feature is the west wall of the nave, adorned with a 400 m² white cement mortar composition by Marc Charpin, marking his first significant commission and merging sculpture with engraving.
