Funicular en Puerto Rico

The "Funicular en Puerto Rico" is a 2019 project by ATELIER LOPEZNEIRACIAURRI Arquitectos, located at c/ Isla de Lobos, 1, 35130 Mogan, Las Palmas, Spain. This intervention involved the installation of a 42-degree inclined funicular system to enhance vertical connectivity within the Riosol Hotel, a structure from the 1970s. The design features a triangulated metal framework supporting access walkways to six levels, incorporating curved yellow glass cabins and blue carpets to improve user experience. The project also includes energy-efficient measures, such as a new roof housing the funicular machinery and pools that exchange heat with the hotel's renewable climate control system.
