Gare de Gentilly
Infrastructure · by Brachet Louis-Loÿs · 1931
avenue Paul-Vaillant-Couturier ; rue Auguste-Blanqui, Gentilly, France
The Gentilly station, located on the Paris to Sceaux railway line operated by the Paris-Orléans Railway Company, consists of two modest brick buildings built in 1891. In the early 1920s, the station is positioned at the intersection of the railway and what is now Avenue Paul-Vaillant-Couturier. At that time, this road, known as Rue de Montrouge, features a level crossing that, due to heavy traffic, is prone to frequent fatal accidents, reflecting the common hazards associated with removable structures in the Paris region.
