rue Anatole-France, Frontignan, France
In 1912, the municipality of Frontignan faced urgent demands from the sanitary commission to address the dilapidated and insufficient school facilities struggling with inadequate classroom space and poor ventilation. Lacking suitable buildings, the city initiated a competition in 1913 to design a new school complex, which was won by architects Léopold and Louis Carlier from Montpellier, a prominent architectural firm of the time. The Carlier brothers were known for significant constructions in the region, including the Grand Buildings of Nouvelles-Galeries and the Hôtel du Midi in Montpellier, along with various other projects in nearby towns.
