Hôpital
Health · by Pierre Guesnot, Marcel Guesnot, Pierre Laborde, Claude Robert · 1967
Route d'Arles, Tarascon, France
The Tarascon hospital was built between 1967 and 1971, designed by architect Pierre Laborde with collaboration from Marcel Guesnot and his son Pierre. It accommodates 135 patients across four departments and reflects the evolution of hospital architecture in the early 1970s. Although modest in size compared to larger hospitals established in major French cities between 1950 and 1980, it was constructed during a time when a new generation of healthcare facilities, known as monobloc hospitals, was emerging.
