montée du Docteur-Chapuis, Vienne, France

The Lucien-Hussel General Hospital, named after the deputy of Isère and former mayor of Vienne, is located on Mont Salomon, overlooking the city's historic center. Designed between 1934 and 1935 by architect Germain Grange, a two-time Grand Prix de Rome winner, the project reflects the influence of Tony Garnier through his student Michel Roux-Spitz. The construction was overseen by architect Albert Pin, who is noted for several quality buildings in Vienne. This hospital is notable for being the first to consolidate all services within a single structure, facilitated by elevators for efficient circulation.
