Japan
Jiyu Gakuen Myonichikan was built as a girls’ school and designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The U-shaped composition frames a central lawn courtyard, creating a calm enclave within the city. Geometric window patterns and long horizontal lines express Wright’s Prairie influence while adapting to local materials and craft. Today the complex is protected as an Important Cultural Property and used as a public cultural venue.
