Joséphine-Charlotte Concert Hall

Culture · by Christian de Porzamparc · 2005

France

A concert hall approached through a ‘forest’ of slender columns, creating a ceremonial threshold before you even reach the foyer. Inside, circulation wraps the main volume like a promenade, making the building feel both grand and surprisingly intimate for audiences arriving and dispersing.
