Kojima Housing

Collective housing · by Tadao Ando · 1981

Japan

Housing organized around voids rather than façades: concrete volumes carve out shared courtyards and circulation that feels like an interior alley. The raw material palette is intentionally strict, letting light, wind, and everyday movement supply the variation—an early example of Ando turning ‘common space’ into the real luxury.
