Lycée Rabelais et son gymnase
Education · by Beaudoin Eugène · 1969
6 rue Georges Langrognet, Meudon, France
Initially named "Lycée du Parc de Chalais" after the nearby pond, the institution is situated on land that was part of the former royal estate of Meudon. During the revolutionary period, the estate became national property and was subdivided into various plots, either sold or repurposed for scientific use. Napoleon I later purchased part of the estate to restore it, which was then intermittently occupied. In 1877, the entire estate was provisionally assigned to the Ministry of War, reflecting its historical significance and changing ownership throughout the years.
