18 avenue de Champagne, Epernay, France
The Moët et Chandon House, located at 18 Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, was reconceived after the devastation of the 1918 bombardment, which destroyed several of the company’s original structures. Before World War I, the buildings were disconnected and surrounded by courtyards. Jean-Rémy Chandon-Moët spearheaded the initiative for a cohesive new complex designed by architects Henri Piquart and Brunoy de Maigret. Construction commenced on July 12, 1928, starting with a complete clearing of the site to establish a rational architectural ensemble.
