Maison Orain

House · by Le Flanchec Roger, Krebs Xavier · 1965

6 rue de la Coudraie, Lannion, France

The Orain House, designed by architect Roger Le Flanchec in 1965, is informally known as "The Bean" due to its distinctive plan shape. This single-story concrete structure features a 70 m² open platform raised on pilotis, now enclosed on the ground floor. The convex façade is predominantly glazed, contrasting with the nearly blind pink granite wall on the opposite side. The roof is equipped with a terrace accessed by an external staircase. Painter Xavier Krebs collaborated on the design, contributing to the interior layout and color scheme, highlighting various structural elements through polychromy.
