Parco dei Suoni
Landscape · by Pierpaolo Perra, Alberto Antioco Loche · 2008
Riola Sardo (OR), Italy
Born from the rehabilitation of abandoned sandstone quarries at Su Cuccuru Mannu in the province of Oristano, this open-air cultural park was conceived by architects Alberto Antioco Loche and Pierpaolo Perra. The project merges environmental conservation with artistic expression, exploiting the unique acoustic properties of the former quarry cavities for performances and sound installations. Eco-compatible design choices respect the natural processes of the landscape while enabling advanced technologies for art and music events in a striking geological setting.
