The Biblioteca Pio IX, designed by King Roselli Architetti, is a modern library located at Via Dell' Amba Aradam 1, 00184 Rome, Italy. Completed between 2003 and 2006, the building comprises a six-level book tower housing approximately 600,000 volumes and a reading room spanning three floors with seven mezzanines. The design features a continuous ramp that encircles a central void, illuminated by a large skylight, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The façade incorporates diagonal openings, reflecting the interior's spatial motifs. The project was awarded the Premio Nazionale IN/ARCH-ANCE for a new building intervention in 2009. (pul.it)
