Primary School & Student Housing

Education · by atelier Philéas · 2015

France

A vertical campus that stacks school functions with student accommodation, turning a limited footprint into a multi-layered learning environment. Playgrounds and outdoor terraces are carved out as ‘floors of landscape’, giving children access to open air without requiring a large ground plot. Bridges and internal streets connect program zones, helping the building function like a compact neighborhood. The façade combines robust materials with planted or textured surfaces to soften the scale and signal a civic role. By mixing education and housing, the project uses density as a design tool—creating activity throughout the day and night.
