Salle des fêtes dite Théatre La Pergola
Culture · by Marcel Picard · 1928
rue Fernand-Cazères, Bordeaux, France
In 1928, municipal architect Marcel Picard designed a multipurpose hall for the community of Caudéran, featuring an 800-seat capacity for theater, cinema, and dances, alongside meeting rooms and a gymnasium. The festive hall is positioned in a central section across two levels, flanked by lower wings housing offices and the gym. Constructed using concrete aggregate, the building is symmetrically arranged around the prominent central volume, which contains the entrance hall on the ground floor and a lounge on the upper level. The façade is characterized by an entrance porch with columns, extending to the second level with pilasters and topped by a curved pediment.
