avenue Salvador-Allende, Audun-le-Tiche, France
The Micheville site, nestled between the municipalities of Audun-le-Tiche and Villerupt, was established in 1872 by industrialist Joseph Ferry, who built a steelworks named "Société des forges et des aciéries de Micheville" in 1875, with operations beginning in 1878. This factory thrived until its closure in 1973 by Wendel-Sidelor, though some operations continued. The remaining Laminoirs de Villerupt closed in June 1986. During the interwar period, the factory promoted sports as a means to foster unity and team spirit among its workforce.
