quai de Clichy ; rue Fournier, Clichy-la-Garenne, France
The Clichy pumping station, established in 1890 by the City of Paris, is located at the intersection of Rue Fournier and Quai de Clichy. It was built on a site that serves as a termination point for the main sewer collectors of Paris, dating back to Haussmann's renovations during the Second Empire. Equipped with steam pumps and a decantation basin connected directly to the Seine River, this facility was designed to handle approximately 80% of the capital's wastewater. Its historical significance lies in its role in the management and treatment of Paris's sewage system.
