Villa Kypris
House · by Expert Roger-Henri, Charles Guérin · 1926
2 avenue Saint-François-Xavier, Arcachon, France
Constructed in 1926 by Roger-Henri Expert alongside four other villas in Arcachon, Villa Kypris is situated on a seaside plot at the entrance of the bay. Elevated on a landscaped garden, the house is primarily made of concrete covered with white paint. Access between the two levels is facilitated by a staircase housed in a separate wing. A patio featuring a ceramic-decorated fountain is integrated into the villa's volumes. The symmetrical rotunda facade, facing the garden and sea, draws inspiration from Palladian villas and features large bay windows in the central space that accommodates the grand living room.
