Villa solaire de Mme Pécout
House · by Gérard Chave, Cedat S. · 1986
388 rue René-Cassin, Sète, France
Gérard Chave, an architect trained in building trades, established his agency in Sète after becoming accredited in 1974. In the 1980s, he focused on bioclimatic house designs in response to the oil crises, drawing inspiration from Félix Trombe's solar innovations. Chave's work incorporates the Trombe-Michel wall system and emphasizes the integration of Mediterranean gardens with solar architecture. Following a previous solar house project for colleagues in Balaruc-les-Bains, he applied these principles to the design of the Villa solaire of Mme Pécout, exploring environmentally sustainable living within the local climate.
