170 rue de la République, Guebwiller, France

The former assembly workshop of NSC, known as Le Louvre, is located at 170 rue de la République in Guebwiller, France. Established in 1808 by Nicolas Schlumberger and his father-in-law Jean-Henri Bourcart, it was Guebwiller's first cotton spinning mill. By 1818, the company began manufacturing its own machine tools, and by 1862 employed over 4,000 textile workers. In 1919, the business restructured into three independent companies for its production branches: textile machines, finished products, and sewing threads, with the Guebwiller site designated for the first two operations.
