Atelier de l’artiste Bausil dit La Maison Rouge
House · by Castan Raoul · 1925
41 rue François-Rabelais, Perpignan, France
The artist's studio of Louis Bausil extends and crowns a medieval rampart tower overlooking the "Remparts Nord" district. On Rue Rabelais, cubic volumes are arranged near the entrance, facing the front courtyard. This residence signifies a shift in Castan's work, initially influenced by Art Nouveau and regionalism, as reflected in his earlier Perpignan project from 1912, the Dabat building at 2 Rue d'Iéna.
