Bibliothèque francophone multimédia
Culture · by Pierre Riboulet · 1993
2 rue Louis-Longequeue, Limoges, France
The project for the multimodal Francophone Library in Limoges represents a significant transformation of urban wasteland and a former hospital site, located in the city hall quarter south of the historic center. Initiated in 1994 as part of a concerted development process, the program emphasizes the strategic geographical context, integrating public facilities alongside university buildings. The library, designed by architect Pierre Riboulet, who was a notable figure in French architecture and a recipient of the Grand Prix national de l'Architecture in 1981, aims to serve as a vital cultural and educational resource for the community.
