Carlton Office Tower

Office · by DAM Architecten · 2010

Netherlands

The tower is the vertical landmark of a larger office ensemble, using height, narrow proportions and aluminium detailing to sharpen its presence on the skyline of Almere. An atrium and passage help connect the complex to surrounding pedestrian flows rather than letting it operate as an isolated corporate object. The façade reads as taut and elegant, with vertical elements emphasising lift and slenderness. It demonstrates how a speculative office building can still contribute to the legibility of a new city centre.
