The Ceuta Public Library, designed by Paredes Pedrosa Architects, is located at Calle Duarte 9r, 51001 Ceuta, Spain. Completed in 2013, the library is situated on a steep site that incorporates a 14th-century Marinid archaeological excavation into its design. The building's compact, folded volume is wrapped in a light aluminum-perforated skin, which reduces glare and solar gain while maximizing natural daylight. The structure is organized in terraces that embrace the archaeological remains, with lecture rooms stacked over the center. The façade features a double layer of glass and metal, providing energy efficiency and protection from the sun and heat. (paredespedrosa.com)
