Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-toutes-les protections
Religion · by Papandopouos J. · 1938
149 rue Grande, Champagne-sur-Seine, France
The Orthodox church of Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-les-Protectons, built in 1938 with funds from Russian immigrants in Champagne-sur-Seine, features a square nave flanked by a porch supported by two columns and a polygonal sanctuary. The church, designed by engineer J. Papandopoulos, includes a steel bulb crafted by workers at the local Schneider factory, which crowns the four-pitched roof's bell tower. Decommissioned for worship in 1982, the church was handed over to the municipality and retains its collection of icons along with the doors of the iconostasis.
