4 montée Saint-Barthélémy ; 28-29 chemin de Montauban, Lyon 5e Arrondissement;Métropole de Lyon, France
The Sainte-Marie Externat was established in Lyon in January 1893 and relocated to Montée Saint-Barthélemy in 1896, initially serving 82 students. By 1960, the institution had grown to 1,000 students, necessitating an annex on Chemin de Montauban. In 1966, Father Perrot appointed architect Alain Chomel to renovate a small chapel's choir, collaborating with artist Georges Adilon. Over 36 years, Adilon shaped the school's aesthetic, navigating the challenges of its sloped, wooded site while enhancing the magnificent views of Lyon.
