Ecole nationale supérieure d’Architecture

Education · by Vacchini Livio, François Christian, Henrion Patricia · 1992

2 rue Bastien-Lepage, Nancy, France

The École nationale supérieure d'architecture, built between 1993 and 1996, replaced a previous structure designed by Jean Prouvé and Michel Folliasson, constructed twenty years earlier in Villers-lès-Nancy. The building, designed by Italian architect Livio Vacchini, who won an international competition, was realized in collaboration with local architect Christian François. It occupies a site formerly used for industrial purposes along the Marne-au-Rhin canal and is part of Nancy's urban revitalization efforts initiated in the 1980s, overseen by urban planner Alexandre Chemetov in the ZAC Meurthe-Canal project.
