Claude Ferret, an architect trained under Roger-Henri Expert and Gaston Redon, designed the new facilities for the École nationale supérieure d’architecture et de paysage de Bordeaux in Talence during the 1970s, where he also taught. He was involved in the reconstruction of Royan from 1947 to 1964 and contributed to significant projects in Bordeaux, including the Benauge barracks and the Grand Parc event hall. The Bordeaux School of Architecture, established in 1928, initially accommodated about twenty students and was located in a wing of the École des Beaux-arts near the Sainte-Croix church.
