Eglise Notre-Dame-de-la-Croix

Religion · by Pierre Barniaud · 1959

1 place Colbert, Maisons-Laffitte, France

In 1957, the need for a new place of worship arose to serve the park of Maisons-Laffitte, as the existing chapel was insufficient. The diocese of Versailles received authorization to build a chapel on land granted perpetually by the local association effective October 22, 1959. The foundation stone was laid by Bishop Alexandre Renard on April 9, 1960, with the blessing occurring two years later on April 1, 1962. Half of the total funding came from the sale of a 10,151 m² parish property in 1961 for 300,000 francs, with the remainder sourced from donations and loans.
