Église Notre-Dame-des-Roses
Religion · by Anton Korady · 1966
rue de la Légalité, Grisy-Suisnes, France
The Notre-Dame-des-Roses church in Grisy-Suisnes was built from 1964 to 1966 by Czechoslovak architect Anton Korady, a graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. This structure replaces a temporary chapel established in 1907 on land belonging to a rose grower, as the 12th-century church dedicated to Saint Médard was closed and demolished in 1910 due to deterioration. Korady's design followed the establishment of a conference center in the 1950s and coincided with his work on other churches, including the Saint-Esprit in Viry-Châtillon and Saint-Jean-l’Evangéliste in Dôle, collaborating with sculptor and designer Maurice Calka.
