11 rue Marmontel, Clermont-Ferrand, France

The Église réformée de la Résurrection, located at 11 rue Marmontel in Clermont-Ferrand, France, was established in response to the inadequacies of its predecessor, originally built in 1827 and reconstructed in 1909-1910. By the late 1950s, the former church was deteriorating, prompting the presbytery council to seek a new site due to alignment issues at the previous location. In May 1960, a 427 m² plot was acquired on rue Marmontel, south of downtown Clermont-Ferrand, leading to an architectural competition that initially attracted the interest of eighty architects.
