29 boulevard Gergovia, Clermont-Ferrand, France

After 1945, Clermont-Ferrand experienced significant growth, with its population increasing from 108,090 in 1946 to 156,763 by 1975. This demographic surge reinforced the city's university role, as enrollment at the Clermont-Ferrand University rose dramatically from 4,165 students in 1959 to 15,821 in 1970. This trend was reflective of a broader demographic and sociological shift in French universities. Consequently, a large-scale development program was initiated nationwide. In Clermont-Ferrand, between 1959 and 1969, several faculties were established, including those of Letters and Human Sciences, Law, Medicine, and Pharmacy, along with university residences like Clos Saint-Jacques and Rue Lebon.
